The trained conscience is an aid in the Holy Spirit’s leading to have victory in the battle with sinful human desires.
Discovering the details of the empowering Holy Spirit, to be witnesses of Jesus and to be enabled to live according to the desires of the Spirit and overcome the desires of the sinful nature.
We escape the corruption of the world as a result of following after the Holy Spirit rather than after human desires. God’s grace teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions.
Even if we know the truth and are standing firmly in the truth we need to be continually reminded of it. False teachers will come that will attempt to lead the vulnerable astray.
1 Peter 1:15-16 says, “But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.” God not only instructs us to be holy, but enables us by his Spirit and our cooperation.
Much of our difficulty as seeking Christians stems from our unwillingness to take God as He is, and adjust our lives accordingly. (A.W. Towzer)
