James 4 speaks about loyalty divided between God and the world. This passage says that to make yourself a friend of the world, you make yourself and enemy of God.
An “Issue” may be a problem that you are dealing with, or it may be something that is being poured out. Divided loyalty may be an issue of the heart (a problem with your inner being). And it may result in an issue of something coming from your inner being flowing out impacting your the course of your life.
Muscle Memory is really brain training to tense and relax certain muscles to do daily activities with little or no thought. Spiritual Muscle Memory is the development of loyal responses to God through much training of the senses to discern right and wrong. Your default response is in obedience to God with little or no thought.
