We are instructed to “put on” the new nature, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. This new nature is a gift received when we receive salvation, but it is something that we must be intentional about, “putting off” the old and “putting on” the new.
The Day of God, judgment for evil, and the inherited blessings for believers. Now is the time to prepare and to live a life of godliness.
Peter was doing the impossible, until he lost his focus on the Lord and instead saw the wind and waves as contrary, preventing him from doing the impossible.
His Spirit enables us to produce good fruit for God. The result is that we serve God, not by trying hard to obey a set of rules, but out of renewed hearts and minds that overflow with love for him.
